Abstract
The title compound, [V(C2H6N)(4)],( I), has non-crystallographic D-2d molec ular symmetry and contains an approximately tetrahedrally coordinated Vatom with dimethylamido ligands. Each N atom features a nearly trigonal planar geometry. There are two independent molecules of (I) in the asymmetric unit . The results are compared with those previously reported for gas-phase ele ctron-diffraction studies.
