Effect of the Ga content substituting the Fe on the crystal structure and m
agnetic properties of the Nd-2 (Fe, CO)(14)B/(Fe, Co)(3) B + (little) alpha
-Fe permanent magnetic materials is studied. The change mechanism of magne
tic properties of the dual-phase nanocrystalline magnets is discussed. The
results show that the crystal size was markedly decreased by adding Ga. Wit
h the increase of x, the dependence of the B, and the (BH)(max) on annealin
g time undergoes a chang from two-peak curves to one-peak curves in the Ga
content range of x < 1 at%. The coercive force (j) H-c decreases at first t
o a minimum and then increases slowly. The best value of the magnetic prope
rties is obtained at x = 0.2.
