The microphase adsorption - spectroscopic correction WASQ technique was app
lied to the investigation of the interaction of picramine CA (PCA) with cet
yl trimethylammonium bromide (CTMAB) micelles. ne microelectrostatic field
in the micelles attracts PCA molecules into a monolayer, which is formed by
twining the surfactant long carbon chains. Results showed that the product
is (PCA.CTMAB)(m) at pH 6. The equilibrium constant K of the product is 1.
25 x 10(6) and its monomeric (PCA.CTMAB) molar absorptivity, epsilon, is 5.
47 x 10(3) lmol(-1)cm(-1) at 640 nm. The aggregation of PCA on CTMAB micell
es is selective and suitable for the analysis of environmental water sample
