Pronator syndrome (compressive neuropathy of the median nerve in the region
of the elbow) is discussed in detail. The anatomy is reviewed, highlightin
g the most common potential sites of compression to the median nerve. The c
linical features including symptoms, physical examination, and electrodiagn
ostic studies are reviewed. The discussion continues with nonoperative and
operative treatment. This article attempts to give the reader a comprehensi
ve understanding of pronator syndrome, including the ability to diagnose an
d treat it.
