Updating of the user-interface fitting program "CONFIT" to "CONFIT2000"

The 32-bit Windows 95/98 version of a software for the fitting of Mossbauer spectra (CONFIT), based on older procedures introducing into the original optimization method the idea of convolution, was completed with a user-frie ndly interface allowing to set up the spectrum model and parameter estimate s. In comparison with other similar systems the striking advantage of the n ew "CONFIT2000" consists in a convenient interactive building of the spectr um model by choosing a background type and adding individual components usi ng a simple mouse clicking. The implementation of distribution and/or trans mission integral is optional. Undesirable components can be deleted, shape and position of any component can be modified by the drag-and-drop mouse te chnique. The system of output data was modified as well. Besides the origin al log-file the new data structures serve for printing of tabular overview and creation of files suitable. for graphs. Not least, some utilities were improved or added. Finally some ideas of further possible improvement of th e current features are given.
