Aceclofenac - A reappraisal of its use in the management of pain and rheumatic disease

Sources: Medical literature published in any language since 1966 on aceclof enac, identified using AdisBase (a proprietary database of Adis Internation al), Medline and EMBASE. Additional references were identified from the ref erence lists of published articles. Bibliographical information, including contributory unpublished data, was also requested from the company developi ng the drug. Search strategy: AdisBase search terms were 'aceclofenac' and 'pain'. Medli ne and EMBASE search terms were 'aceclofenac' and 'biofenac'. Searches were last updated 25 Jun 2001. Selection: Studies in patients with pain who received aceclofenac. Inclusio n of studies was based mainly on the methods section of the trials. When av ailable, large, well controlled trials with appropriate statistical methodo logy were preferred. Relevant pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic data are also included.
