Abstract
It is well known that the rate of production of solar neutrinos is ver y sensitive to small variations in the radiative opacity of the solar interior. In this paper we show that the reduction in frequency result ing from scattering and density inhomogeneity influences the radiative transport of energy and thus the solar opacity.
