Abstract
A 156 Mbit/s preamplifier IC has been fabricated for ATM-PON applicati on with a new current-bypass circuit. A wide dynamic range of > 36dB a nd small duty deviation at the large input signal was obtained with th is preamplifier. The maximum output signal amplitude was reduced to <3 50mV(pp). This reduction is helpful in designing a main amplifier with low supply voltage and dissipation power.
