Patentometric analysis using linked online databases

The aim of the present project, which continues co-operation between TU Ilm enau and TU Zielona Gora (Poland), is the development of a method for the u se of linked databases of varied contents for the assessment of scientific and technological activity of persons and mechanisms in the knowledge-based economy. The partly automated patentometric analysis is based upon patent, citation and economic data, extracted from databases such as Derwent Paten t Citation Index, Science Citation Index, World Patent Index, and PROMT. A simple program is presented which automates intellectual steps performed by information brokers hence it can assist such type of analyses.
