A contour-unsharpness in transmitted light is typical for the imaging of no
n-transparent bodies and cannot be geometric-optically explained with the c
ollinear optical imaging. This contour-unsharpness follows geometric-optica
lly from the ray-shading of the ray pencil on the body itself (shadow-proje
ction). In this paper the geometric-optical modelling of the contour-unshar
pness is discussed and illustrated by numeric-graphical examples.
