Abstract
The analysis of results of femoro-popliteal reconstructions demonstrated th at the patency rate of thrombendarterectomies is much lower than that of by pass procedures. The patency rate of thrombendarterectomy can be improved b y correcting the lesion under angioscopic control. Covering the injured, th rombogenic intima with PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) material may result i n further improvement of results. The authors report their experiences with Enduring en. doprosthesis developed by the Goretex((R)) firm. The use of e ndoprosthesis proved to be easily performed from technical point of view. L ong-term results are not available as this is a new method.
