Abstract
Two novel disubstituted ferrocene, 1,1'-bis(3-pyridylethynyl)ferrocene 1 an d 1,1'-bis(4-pyridylethynyl)ferrocene 2, were synthesized and fully charact erized by elemental analysis, H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR, IR, and X-ray crystallogra phy. Compound 1crystallizes in monoclinic, space group Cc, a=17.26 Angstrom , b=9.77 Angstrom, c=10.85 Angstrom, beta =105.45; R-1 =0.0399, wR(2)=0.107 7, GooF=1.023. The two arms of the ferrocene are parallel, which will play an important role both in the coordination chemistry and electronic communi cation of the ferrocene.
