Electron multicapture processes at large impact parameters have been studie
d for collisions between 150 keV Xe30+ (nu approximate to 0.2 a.u) and C-60
. By detecting the number of ejected electrons in coincidence with an outgo
ing Xe28+ ion and a C-60(7+) ion (3 less than or equal to r less than or eq
ual to 6) we have obtained electron spectra corresponding to the ejection o
f (r - 2) electrons in the continuum. Experiments have been performed for s
everal extraction fields and the electron collection probability has been e
xtracted from each spectrum. A charge trajectory simulation allows an estim
ation of the kinetic energy distribution of the ejected electrons. We find
that most of the detected electrons have energies less than 100 eV.
