Single electron capture from excited H(2s) and H(2p) states by impact of pr
otons, alpha particles and Li3+ is theoretically studied using the Continuu
m Distorted Wave-Eikonal Initial State approximation, Total cross sections
are calculated for proton and alpha particles, and partial cross sections f
or capture to final bound states with principal quantum number n(f) = 4 are
determined for Li3+. Comparisons with other existing theoretical predictio
ns are presented.
