Abstract
Explicit sufficient and necessary conditions for separability of higher-dim ensional quantum systems with rank two density matrices are given. A nonsep arability inequality is also presented, for the case where one of the eigen vectors corresponding to nonzero eigenvalues is a maximally entangled state . (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V.
