Abstract
Three-dimensional ultrasound (3-DUS) is a rapidly developing field. In this article, current clinical applications of 3-DUS in obstetrics and gynecolo gy are discussed, and potential areas for use are suggested. A review of th e advantages of 3-DUS in several fetal and gynecologic conditions is given. It is suspected that 3-DUS will be used as an adjunctive tool to two-dimen sional ultrasound in the diagnostic work-up of obstetric and gynecologic co nditions; using the two modalities together should vastly improve ultrasoun d diagnostic capabilities.
