Abstract
Males, larvae and puparia of Odontomyia pulcherrima Brunneti, 1920, are des cribed for the first time and the female is redescribed. The larvae are uni que among the Odontomyia species in that they live on wet rocks at waterfal ls and are adapted to hygropetric conditions. The adults were reared from p upae collected in the field. O. pulcherrima is a widespread species occurri ng in India, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. Relationships of O. pulcherr ima are briefly discussed and a preliminary key to the four Oriental Odonto myia larvae known so far is given.
