Posttraumatic intra-abdominal cysts generally develop in relation to solid
abdominal organs and most originate as a result of the organization of flui
d or blood collection after trauma. They lack true endothelial lining and a
re hence called "pseudocysts." We report herein the rare case of a traumati
c pseudocyst of the greater omentum in a 6-year-old child who was successfu
lly treated by laparotomy and excision of the cyst.
