The ability of reduced forms of HAT(CN)(6) to be used as ligands to constru
ct novel magnetic materials is reported and discussed herein. Binary compou
nds of first row transition metals with discrete or extended polymeric stru
ctures are presented. Ail compounds exhibit characteristic paramagnetic beh
aviour except for a polymeric {Cu-HAT(CN)(6)} phase that behaves as a cante
