Abstract
Since 1967, prisoners doing hard time at the Louisiana State Penitentiary h ave volunteered to take part in a rodeo staged for tourists. Few of the inm ates have ever ridden a horse before, much less a bucking bronco or bull. I s this spectacle of criminalized bodies performing under duress 'fun' or pu blic torture?
