Abstract
We describe herein a highly diastereoselective total synthesis of racemic s itophilate, based on the results obtained in a diastereoselective heterogen eous catalytic hydrogenation reaction of a set of Baylis-Hillman adducts or iginating from aliphatic aldehydes.
