Abstract
The principles of assessment and repair of soft tissue trauma of the face a re outlined. The importance of an adequate preoperative evaluation is empha sized. Recognizing lesions in the deep vital structures is extremely import ant in the initial approach to these patients. The postoperative care and t he best management of the sequelae are described.
