Abstract
Six novel rare earth complexes with noncyclic polyether-glycylglycine Schif f base (TAGLGL) have been synthesized with "step by step" method. They were confirmed by elemental analysis, IR, etc. and their formulas were establis hed as [Ln(3)(TAGLGL) (NO3)(7)]. 4H(2)O (Ln = La, Nd, Sm, Gd, Yb, Y). Owing to introducing a dipeptide bond with C=N and HN-C=O groups in the ligand, H-1 NMR and solid high resolution C-13 NMR with CPMAS and TOSS techniques a nd EPR spectra were used for elucidating the crystal field strength, the sy mmetry in the obtained Gd( III) complex and the coordination of the donor a toms of the ligand with rare earth elements.
