Abstract
The interaction between H. pylori and non-steroidal anti.-inflammatory drug s is highly controversial. Pathophysiological studies suggest the two facto rs may have additive effects in ulcerogenesis. Clinical studies, however, y ield conflicting messages due to hetrogeneity of study designs. The interac tion of H. pylori and NSAID cannot be as simple as either synergistic or an tagonistic. History of NSAID usage, ulcer bleeding as well as other risk fa ctors of NSAID complications should be considered. Curr Opin Gastroenterol 16 (suppl 1):S39-S43 (C) 2000 Lippincott Williams & Wilkins.
