Abstract
Gaining information on global gene function in fungal plant pathogens throu gh analysis of expressed sequences is a valuable step towards understanding the overall metabolism and biology underlying the pathogenic habit. Such l arge-scale gene-finding exercises are poised to provide many useful leads f or discovering key events that contribute to the processes of infection and colonisation of host plants.
