Abstract
Genome-wide mutational and expression analyses have been performed in yeast and provide a model for large-scale analysis of gene function in filamento us fungi. The recent completion of the Neurospora crassa genome offers a re source for comparative analysis with plant pathogenic filamentous fungi. Th ese advances have important implications for molecular genetic studies of p athogenicity genes.
