Abstract
A novel localized two-dimensional (2-D) filter is proposed in this paper. T he proposed filter derived from frequency-wavenumber filter and radon trans form filter, with filtering operation applied at the stage of Fourier proje ction, has good local property and less filtering distortion. An example of the proposed method to attenuate linear coherent noise in seismic image is given. Comparisons of the results between our method and the conventional 2-D filters (including frequency-wavenumber filter and radon transform filt er) show that the new method outperforms both frequency-wavenumber method a nd radon transform method.
