This work describes a methodology to evaluate the properties of sintered Sr
-ferrite magnets fabricated by powder injection molding. A hysteresis was u
sed to evaluate the magnetic properties of the samples after sintering. Pro
perties were compared with those conventional powder metallurgy and bonded
magnets. Organic solvents were used to remove binders, and it was observed
that the removal efficiency of these solvents increased by raising the temp
erature of the process. As an alternative to conventional debinding process
es, a new technique, supercritical extraction, was used. It is a promising
technology due to the high quality of the debound final parts and the absen
ce of environmental pollution. From an economic point od view, this techniq
ue offers a viable alternative to the conventional industrial method of sol
vent extraction.
