Abstract
The kinetics of unimolecular fragmentation reactions of energy selected flu oroethene and 1,1-difluoroethene ions has been investigated by the threshol d photoelectron photoion coincidence (TPEPICO) technique. A systematic comp arison of kinetic data recorded in a linear and a reflecting time-of-flight mass spectrometer is presented. From the analysis of the TPEPICO-TOF spect ra complete k(E) curves have been derived over a range from 10(4) to 10(7) s(-1). The current work complements previous work aimed at the kinetic ener gy released in the elementary reactions of the title molecules.
