Abstract
It is shown that in an amorphous ribbon with transverse anisotropy, th e magnetostatic energy associated with spatial fluctuations of the loc al magnetization depends on the magnetization state. The corresponding magnetostatic interactions can play an important part in the magnetic and magnetoelastic behaviour of the transverse field annealed amorpho us ribbons used for transducer and sensor applications.
