Abstract
Metal and metal oxide nanometer particles were prepared by pyrolysis of met al complex. X-ray diffraction analysis and transmission electron microscopy showed the products were nanocrystals with various morphologies (rod-like or quantum dot). The metal complexes with pyruvic acid oxime (PAO) were cha racterized by elemental analysis and thermal gravimetric analysis. The mech anism of the thermal decomposition reaction was speculated.
