S. Zheng et al., Synthesis and characterization of copper(II)-phenanthroline complex grafted organic groups modified MCM-41, MATER CH PH, 71(2), 2001, pp. 174-178
The preparation of copper(II)-phenanthroline complex functionalized MCM-41
has been described. The modification of the internal pore surface of mesopo
rous MCM-41 with 3-aminopropyl or 3-methacryloyloxypropyl yielded two diffe
rent functional groups by using 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane and (3-methacr
yloyloxypropyl)trimethoxysilane as the precursors. Copper(II)-phenanthrolin
e complex was grafted onto the functional MCM-41, via the coordination of t
he metal ion with the functional groups. The metal ion complex functionaliz
ed mesoporous materials were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction, fou
rier transform infrared and nitrogen adsorption/desorption at 77 K, as well
as electron spin resonance at 293 K. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All ri
