Abstract
The performance of a dialyser is determined by several factors. Many of the se factors relate to the dialyser membrane, including mean pore size, pore size distribution, wall thickness, surface area, and adsorptivity. In this article, several of these factors are reviewed. The potential impact of the se factors on the clinical outcome of chronic haemodialysis patients is als o discussed.
