Abstract
The principle of dispersion compensation in transmission using uniform fibe r Bragg gratings is described. Its compensation efficiency is analyzed nume rically and the experimental results are reported. We broadened the pulse-w idth of the initial signals from 114.5 to 191.2 and 257.8 ps after 11.1 and 22.2 km fiber transmissions, respectively, and then recompressed them to 1 25.8 and 147.2 ps, respectively, using one uniform fiber grating with some tuning techniques.
