High-temperature superconducting microwave filters were designed for the W-
CDMA communication system. Frequency responses of the filters were calculat
ed by the electromagnetic simulator "Sonnet-em". A cross-coupled 8-pole mic
rostrip line filter shows 1.949 GHz of center frequency and 1.04% of transm
ission fractional bandwidth on the LaAlO3, and 1.950 GHz of center frequenc
y and 1.02% of transmission fractional bandwidth on the Al2O3. (C) 2001 Els
