Abstract
The single large domains of Ag-doped SmBaCuO-system superconductors with se veral compositions of Sm1+2xBa2+x Cu3+xOy (x = 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4) were prepared by a melt process. The sample size was 45 mm in diameter and 20 mm in thickness. The lattice parameter, the critical temperature (T-c) and th e dependence of the critical current density (J(c)) on the applied magnetic field were measured with XRD, a vibrating sample magnetometer and a SQUID magnetometer. The T-c and the peak effect of the J(c)-H property were highe st at x = 0.2 in that the c-axis and the a-axis had a maximum value. (C) 20 01 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
