Abstract
The harmonic magnetic field generated by the ground coils can cause vibrati on of the superconducting magnet, which must be reduced as it generates hea t in the liquid helium temperature range. Therefore, it is important for th e design of lighter magnets to exactly estimate the electromagnetic force o n the superconducting magnet. Some causes of the vibration were analyzed by the structural and electromagnetic coupling FEM-BEM method. (C) 2001 Elsev ier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
