The effect of thermomechanical processing schedules on the formation o
f submicrocrystalline and nanocrystalline structure in EP962 nickel hi
gh alloy was studied. A microstructure with 0.05-0.08 mu m grains can
be obtained during recrystallization on hot deformation. An alloy with
0.25 mu m grains exhibits superplasticity at 800 degrees C (0.7 T-m.p
.) which is 200-275 degrees C lower compared to the common fine-grain
state.
