Vv. Fedorov et al., Broadband lasing and nonlinear conversion of radiation from LiF : F-2(+) and LiF : F-2(-) colour centre lasers, QUANTUM EL, 31(4), 2001, pp. 285-289
Broadband LiF:F-2(+) and LiF:F-2(-) colour centre lasers are studied theore
tically and experimentally. The cavities of these lasers ensure spatial wav
elength selection. The lasers generate nanosecond pulses in the near-infrar
ed range with a spectrum wider than 1300 cm(-1). As a result of optimisatio
n of the optical layout and selection of proper nonlinear crystals, the bro
adband laser radiation with a spectral width of more than 1300 cm(-1) is ef
ficiently and simultaneously converted into the second harmonic in a nonlin
ear LiIO3 crystal and into the fourth harmonic, in a nonlinear BBO crystal.
