Abstract
Tris(trifluoromethyl)bismuth generates difluorocarbene at -30 degreesC in t he presence of aluminum chloride. By reaction of the difluorocarbene with i sobutylene, styrene, cyclohexene, and 2,3-dimethylbutadiene the correspondi ng substituted difluorocyclopropanes were obtained.
