Abstract
A synthesis of gem-difluoromethylene C-glycopyranosides was efficiently ach ieved via a Reformatsky reaction on an aldehyde and subsequent intramolecul ar cyclization involving either the opening of an epoxide or an oxymercurat ion. (C) 2001 Published by Elsevier Science Ltd.
