The Ll, L alpha, L beta and L gamma X-ray production cross-sections and L-i
(i = 1, 2 and 3) X-ray fluorescence (XRF) cross-sections have been measure
d for some elements in the atomic range 55 less than or equal to Z less tha
n or equal to 81 at 59.54 keV. The values of L-i subshell fluorescence yiel
ds (omega (1), omega (2) and omega (3)) have been measured for the same ele
ments using the presently measured cross-sections values and the theoretica
l L-i subshell photoionization cross-sections, Coster-Kronig transition pro
babilities and emission rates. The measured XRF cross-sections values are i
n general agreement with the theoretical values. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science
