J. Dlugonski et al., MAINTENANCE OF STEROID 11-HYDROXYLATION ACTIVITY IN IMMOBILIZED CUNNINGHAMELLA-ELEGANS PROTOPLASTS, World journal of microbiology & biotechnology, 13(4), 1997, pp. 469-473
Cunninghamella elegans protoplasts entrapped in calcium alginate at ge
l concentration of 6% w/v maintained cortexolone 11 alpha- and 11 beta
-hydroxylation activity for 13 cycles, and a total time of 247 h, in t
he presence of organic osmotic stabilizers and cell wall regeneration
inhibitors. Changes in stabilization medium composition showed that it
is possible to stimulate separately epihydrocortisone and hydrocortis
one production in immobilized C. elegans protoplasts.
