Abstract
Relationships among twenty polytomous item response theory (IRT) models (pa rametric and nonparametric) and eight measurement properties relevant to po lytomous IRT are described. Three tables are provided to assist in choice o f an appropriate model, and examples demonstrate the use of the models in t est construction.
