Abstract
The spreading behavior of new type of chiral and achiral rigid cyclic oligo mer on the water surface was investigated by measuring the surface pressure (pi)-area (A) isotherms, with the aim of comparison of new type LB films o f chiral and achiral rigid cyclic oligomers. Molecular resolution atomic fo rce microscope images of the Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) film was observed and th e structure of their two-dimensional crystals on the basal plane of mica wa s studied.
