Abstract
A beta -cyclodextrin derivative, heptakis (2, 6-di-O-pentyl-3-O-benzyl)-bet a -CD, was synthesized and used as GC stationary phase. The chromatographic results show that the CDs is a good GC stationary phase with a good film f orming property, moderate polarity and good separation ability to disubstit uted benzene isomers such as cresols and xylene isomers. The chromatographi c properties of heptakis(2,6-di-O-pentyl-3-O-benzyl)-beta -CD are better th an OV-225 because of the peculiar cavity of beta -cyclodextrin.
