A new protein lattice model basing on the bond-fluctuation model is perform
ed in this paper. Through investigation of two-dimensional protein structur
e using our lattice model, we find that our two-dimensional protein chains
have more contacts. The conformations Omega (0) may be expressed as Omega (
0) =gamma (N), here N is chain length and gamma =4.768, and the average com
pactness (rho (N)) is close to 0.31-0.32. For the given HP sequences, our p
rotein lattices have lower ground state energies. Comparisons with two-dime
nsional square lattice model are also made.
