Abstract
The authors have proposed and investigated new types of face-gear drives fo r application in transmissions, particularly. in helicopter transmissions. The new geometry differs from the existing by application of asymmetric pro files and double-crowned pinion of the drive. The paper covers computerized design, simulation of meshing and contact, and stress analysis by finite e lement method. Computer programs for this purpose have been developed.
