Abstract
The problem of electric and magnetic fields arising from static charge and current sources in the general bianisotropic medium is expressed in differential equation form. The fields are seen to be expressable i n integral form in terms of a dyadic Green function satisfying a diffe rential equation of the fourth order. It is shown that for the most ge neral uniaxial bianisotropic medium with eight medium parameters and a given axial direction, the problem can be reduced to finding two scal ar Green functions from equations of the second order which can be sol ved. The static solution obtained is applicable to quasi-static analys es of electromagnetic problems involving uniaxial media.
