Abstract
The reaction of 18-crown-6 with Na2Cu(mnt)(2) (mnt = 1,2-dicyanoethene-1,2- dithiolate, C2S2(CN)(2)(2-)) gives the novel complex, ([Na(18C6)][Na(18C6)( H2O)]}[Cu(mnt)(2)]. The complex has been characterized by elemental analysi s, IR spectrum and X-ray diffraction analysis. The complex displays a one-d imensional infinite chain of [Na(18C6)](+) complex cations and [Cu(mnt)(2)] (2-) complex anion bridged by Na-N interactions between adjacent [Na(18C6)] (+) units.
